The Center is closed on Mondays and on January 1, July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Directions
New Haven Construction
Due to a large, multiyear project, certain exits in New Haven will be permanently closed. From I-95 take Exit 47 Downtown New Haven/Rt 34. Take Exit 2 to York Street and turn right. The Center’s lot is on the right.
Parking
The Center's parking lot is located at 161 York Street (fee, $8). Additional parking is available in area lots.
Public Transportation
Metro-North and Amtrak provide train service to New Haven's Union Station. Public transportation between Union Station and the New Haven Green is available by free shuttle (Monday–Friday) or CT Transit bus J5 or J7 (daily, $1.30)

Young Visitors
The Yale Center for British Art is a wonderful place to explore with young children. Information about programs, family days, and activities is available from the Center's Education Department.
Strollers are permitted in the galleries. Changing tables are located in both the men's and women's public restrooms on the lower level.
