The Center is temporarily closed through spring 2016 for building conservation.

Museum Shop
The Museum Shop will remain open during the closure, Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.

Study Room
For the duration of the Center’s building conservation project, the Study Room will be available by appointment on a limited basis, contigent on the construction schedule. Appointments may be made by e-mail with at least two weeks’ notice.

Due to the nature of the construction during the summer months, appointments will be not accepted in June, July, August, and early September. Patrons should be aware that certain works may not be accessible throughout the project, and conditions may not always be ideal for study.

Reference Library
The Library is also available by appointment on a limited basis. Please e-mail with questions or requests for appointments.

New Haven Construction
Due to a large multiyear project, certain exits in New Haven will be permanently closed. From I-95 take Exit 47 Downtown New Haven/Rt 34. Take the first exit to York Street and turn right. The Center’s lot is on the right.


During the Center’s closure, the LAZ lot at 161 York Street is closed to visitors. Additional parking is available in area lots.

Public Transportation

Metro-North and Amtrak provide train service to New Haven’s Union Station. Public transportation between Union Station and the New Haven Green is available by free shuttle (Monday–Friday) or CT Transit bus J5 or J7.
