Theatrical Performance | Brutes (CANCELED)

Event time:
Wednesday, April 22, 2020 - 5:30pm

This solo performance is about the Irish-born British painter Francis Bacon (1909-1992) during the most tortured and prolific period of the artist’s life. Combining Bacon’s letters, live video manipulation, and extensive scholarly research, Brutes examines the violent and ecstatic life of one of the twentieth century’s greatest artists.

Brutes was written and directed by Em Weinstein (Yale MFA 2019), with additional writing and research by Eleanor Jones (Research Fellow at the Center, 2016) and video design by Erin Sullivan (Yale School of Drama MFA candidate).
