About the speakers
Felix Davey, born 1989 Belfast, Northern Ireland, makes work that examines symbolic structures embedded within built and natural environments. He constructs theoretical topographies that explore encoded histories of ownership, conflict, and power. His work has focused on sites of inherited tension, including the Irish border, the Algerian desert, and the property lines of billionaire estates in the Hamptons. Davey studied photography, film, theory, and history in Edinburgh and Toronto. In 2013 he was awarded the Rome Prize by the Scottish Arts Council to live at the British School in Rome. In 2019 he received a master’s degree from the Yale School of Art. He currently lives on Shelter Island.
Paloma Dooley, born 1993, New York, is a landscape, architectural, and editorial photographer based in Los Angeles. She earned a BA in photography from Bard College in 2015 and is expected to graduate with an MFA in photography from the Yale School of Art in 2027. She has participated in artist residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and Quinn Emanuel Artists in Residence. In 2024 she received a Puffin Foundation Artist Grant. Her work has been published in the New Yorker, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Contemporary Art Review LA, among other media outlets.
Abigail Montes is a photographer and educator proudly from the South Bronx. Since 2013 she has dedicated herself to youth-centered initiatives utilizing the camera as a tool for change, most notably through leadership roles with the International Center of Photography. In 2024, she joined the Seis del Sur, a photo collective documenting the Puerto Rican diaspora. In 2027, Montes will graduate with an MFA in photography from the Yale School of Art.
