Saloni Mathur, Research Fellow at the YCBA and Professor of Art History at UCLA, speaks on the image of crises in the maritime scene in relation to the histories of empire and slavery. 

Join us for this “Research in Action” talk to look closely at a single artwork through the ongoing research of YCBA fellows, students, and staff. Saloni Mathur is a Research Fellow at the YCBA and Professor of Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles. She will reflect on the image of crises in the maritime scene in relation to the histories of empire and slavery.
