Madeleine Sheahan, Graduate Museum Fellow at the YCBA and PhD candidate in the Department for the History of Science and Medicine, Yale University, offers a closer look at Remedies for Ailments in Horses

Join us in for this “Research in Action” talk to look closely at a single artwork through the ongoing research of YCBA fellows, students, and staff. Madeleine Sheahan is a Graduate Museum Fellow at the YCBA and PhD candidate in the Department for the History of Science and Medicine at Yale University. She will discuss the eighteenth-century manuscript recipe book Remedies for Ailments in Horses as a means of exploring how veterinary knowledge became embedded within the recipe culture of eighteenth-century England.
