In connection with the YCBA’s exhibition William Blake: Burning Bright, the Yale Voxtet performs music by composers inspired by the artist’s poetry.

About this program

Few poets have inspired as many composers and musicians as William Blake. Join us as the Yale Voxtet enlivens the Library Court with the music of Benjamin Britten, John Tavener, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and other composers who found inspiration in Blake’s words.

About the Yale Voxtet

The Yale Voxtet is a group of eight singers from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music who specialize in early music, oratorio, and chamber ensemble under the direction of James Taylor, Professor in the Practice of Voice. The Voxtet performs a variety of programs, tours, and makes recordings as part of the Yale Schola Cantorum.

The current Voxtet members are Izzy Barbato, MM 2026; Eden Bartholomew, MM 2027; Gwendolyn DeLaney, MM 2027; Sam Denler, MM 2026; Matthew Dexter, MM 2026; John Richardson, MM 2027; Scottie Rogers, MM 2026; and Lucas Zuehl,  MM 2027.

This program is presented through the generosity of the Terry F. Green 1969 Fund for British Art and Culture.
