Center Field Guide Wins NEMA Award

The Yale Center for British Art’s A Field Guide to Extraordinary Things (A Family Guide) won second place in the Educational Publications, Materials & Kits category of the New England Museum Association’s Publication Awards Program for 2015. The family guide was produced for the exhibition “Of Green Leaf, Bird, and Flower”: Artists’ Books and the Natural World, which was on view at the Center in 2014. NEMA extended congratulations to the Center’s Head of Design, Lyn Bell Rose, as project director, and Sean Kuhnke (Yale MFA 2014), as in-house designer, for the Center’s winning entry. Associate Curator of Education Cyra Levenson contributed content in collaboration with Chief Curator of Rare Books and Manuscripts Elisabeth Fairman and Senior Curatorial Assistant Sarah Welcome. This year, 199 publications from sixty museums provided submissions in ten categories. The summer issue of New England Museums Now will cover the winning publications, which will also be exhibited at NEMA’s annual conference, scheduled for November 4–6, 2015.
