Fostering a Creative Career: A Conversation with Harry Weller and Kalia Brooks
Harry Weller, creative director, Tracey Emin Studio, and Kalia Brooks, interim executive director and director of programs and exhibitions, NXTHVN, will discuss careers in art, collaborative practice, and creative mentorship.
For sixteen years, Weller has worked closely with artist Tracey Emin, whose work is the subject of the YCBA exhibition Tracey Emin: I Loved You Until The Morning (opening March 29). This conversation will highlight Weller’s experiences in managing a high-profile studio, his creative relationship with Emin, and his engagements with the local and international art market. Brooks is the interim executive director and director of programs and exhibitions at NXTHVN, a New Haven art space that fosters the creative and business careers of artists.
