Special Needs Program

Exploring Artism: A Program for Families

This is a free program for families with children who are five to twelve years of age and on the autism spectrum. Participants learn to look and respond to artwork in the museum’s galleries, engage in group conversations, complete a follow-up art project in a museum classroom, and much more. While we have taken into account the needs of individuals with autism in designing this program, it is intended to be fun for parents, siblings, and other relatives too!

Preregistration is required. Please contact Education (ycba.education@yale.edu | +1 203 432 2858) with your name, number, and a good time to reach you by phone. A museum educator will call you to complete your registration. As the Center is closed this year, the program will take place at Chapel Haven, 1040 Whalley Avenue. Upcoming dates in 2015 include March 21, April 18, May 16, and June 20.
