Program

Art in Context | Look Without Touching

Free admission

Bix Archer, an MFA candidate in painting and printmaking at the Yale School of Art, will explore how nonvisual experiences are translated into artworks by Tracey Emin.

About this program

Thinking through the work of Tracey Emin, this talk will explore how nonvisual experiences—bodily sensations of pain and pleasure, feelings of heartbreak and longing, memories and dreams—are translated and transfigured in the visual field.

Art in Context

Presented by faculty, staff, student guides, and visiting scholars, these gallery talks focus on a particular work of art in the museum’s collections or special exhibitions through an in-depth look at its style, subject matter, technique, or time period.
