Hours and registration
Previsit requirements and visitor guidelines
To access collection materials in the Study Room, visitors must
- Request materials at least two business days in advance by using the Center’s online catalogue, Orbis, or Archives at Yale.
- Have a confirmed seat reservation at least two business days in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to make those arrangements. A follow-up email will be sent when an appointment is confirmed.
Due to limited capacity in the Study Room, there may be a waiting period for appointments. We encourage you to reserve a seat as early as possible. Study Room staff cannot provide drop-in or same-day access. Please note that some materials may be unavailable or take longer than two business days for retrieval.
Request a class
The Center welcomes back Yale faculty and students for object-based classes in the Study Room for the fall 2021 semester. Faculty are encouraged to contact Study Room staff as soon as possible with class requests. In following with public health and Yale University guidelines, please note that there are capacity limitations.
Although the Center is not able to host external groups at this time, we may be able to offer online object sessions via Zoom. The Center’s staff look forward to working with you to ensure a rewarding learning experience for your students.
