The Study Room provides access to works in the YCBA’s Prints and Drawings, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and Archives collections. The Study Room is also used for teaching with these collections, and staff members are available for advice on planning classes.
Please email email@example.com to schedule a visit.
Please note that active construction is underway in the museum. Visitors to the Study Room should anticipate the possibility of noise or other distractions.
Hours and appointments
Reservations can be made in one-hour segments from Tuesday to Friday, 10 am–12 pm, and 1–4 pm.
Group visits must be made two weeks in advance and are limited to 25 participants. Organizers must submit a final object list and a full list of participants’ names no later than two weeks prior to their anticipated visit.
Individual researchers must confirm their appointments a minimum of two business days in advance of their desired date.
Study Room access is contingent upon the construction schedule. Access may be restricted with little to no advance notice.
To access collection materials in the Study Room, all visitors must request materials at least two business days in advance by using the YCBA’s online catalogue, Orbis, or Archives at Yale. Non-Yale visitors will be prompted to create an account using our online system, Aeon.
Visitors must also confirm their seat reservation at least two business days in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A follow-up email will be sent when an appointment is confirmed.
Due to limited capacity in the Study Room, there may be a waiting period for appointments. We encourage you to reserve a seat as early as possible. Study Room staff cannot provide drop-in or same-day access. Please note that some materials may be unavailable or take longer than two business days for retrieval.
