Please note that active construction is underway in the museum. Visitors to the Study Room should anticipate the possibility of noise or other distractions.

Reservations can be made in one-hour segments from Tuesday to Friday, 10 am–12 pm, and 1–4 pm.

Requesting materials

To access collection materials in the Study Room, all visitors must request materials at least two business days in advance by using the YCBA’s online catalogue, Orbis, or Archives at Yale. Non-Yale visitors will be prompted to create an account using our online system, Aeon.

Visitors must also confirm their seat reservation at least two business days in advance by emailing ycba.studyroom@yale.edu. A follow-up email will be sent when an appointment is confirmed.

Due to limited capacity in the Study Room, there may be a waiting period for appointments. We encourage you to reserve a seat as early as possible. Study Room staff cannot provide drop-in or same-day access. Please note that some materials may be unavailable or take longer than two business days for retrieval.
