Residential awards

The Yale Center for British Art offers several short-term residential awards to academics, artists, doctoral candidates, museum professionals, and writers. 

Awards

Awardees are given a dedicated working space in the museum's Reference Library and encouraged to participate in events and programs, as well as to engage with the scholarly community of the university. They are also able to take advantage of the extensive collections at other Yale museums and libraries.

Visiting Scholar Awards

These awards provide academic, museum, and independent scholars, as well as doctoral students and artists, working in any field related to British visual and material culture an opportunity to study the Yale Center for British Art’s collection.

Curatorial Scholar Awards

Museum curators from anywhere in the world are now eligible for these awards. Applicants must be engaged in significant curatorial work in the field of British art. Curators at municipal and regional museums are especially encouraged to apply.

AHRC International Placement Scheme (IPS) Scholar Awards

These awards are open to early career researchers, research assistants, and doctoral students funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council. Applications must be made through the AHRC.

Henry Moore Foundation Residency

The Henry Moore Foundation (HMF) and the Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) annually award a monthlong residency to a current MFA student or recent MFA graduate of the Yale School of Art with an interest in Henry Moore’s art and life.

Nadia Sophie Seiler Rare Materials Residency

The Nadia Sophie Seiler Rare Materials Residency is a nine-month term-limited position that provides library professionals with substantive exposure to rare materials cataloguing. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about becoming a part of the next generation of special collections librarians.
