Exploring Artism: A Program for Families with Children on the Autism Spectrum
Join Yale Center for British Art educators to explore works of art, practice social skills, and have fun!
Exploring Artism is a free program for children who are five to twelve years of age and on the autism spectrum. Children and their families, parents, siblings, and other relatives will find a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Participants practice social skills and learn ways to sustain attention and focus by exploring works of art and trying no-fail follow up-activities. A quiet space with sensory toys is available.
While the museum is closed for renovations, Exploring Artism will take place at Ives Main Library of the New Haven Free Public Library, 133 Elm Street, New Haven, on Saturdays May 6, May 20, and June 3.
Exploring Artism program is facilitated by the YCBA education department in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center and is recommended by the Autism Parents Community (APC).
