About Anna Szapiro
Anna Szapiro is the Catalog Librarian for the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the YCBA. She was the Nadia Sophie Seiler Rare Materials Resident in Archives and Rare Books and Manuscripts for 2024–25. Szapiro received a BA in art history from Wesleyan University in 2011 and an MLIS from the University of Maryland in 2024. She previously held positions at the National Gallery of Art Library, the University of Maryland Special Collections, and the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora.
About the Nadia Sophie Seiler Rare Materials Residency
Established in memory of rare book cataloguer Nadia Sophie Seiler, the residency is a unique incubator for immersion in the world of primary source stewardship and bibliography. Shared between the Archives and the Rare Books and Manuscripts departments, this one-year postgraduate position is made possible by the Nadia Sophie Seiler Memorial Fund.
