Teen Program

Teen Thursday: Print, Press, Stamp!

Free admission

Make art, have fun, and hang out with like-minded teenagers interested in art, creativity, and creating community!

About this program

J. M. W. Turner used printmaking extensively in his practice to create images that could be shared more widely and as a way to experiment with techniques. Teens will explore the exhibition J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality and view examples of printmaking in our study room. They will have a chance to make prints in our docent room with linoleum cut printing, stamping, and mono printing.

About the exhibition

The year 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), possibly the most widely admired and influential British artist of all time. This exhibition is the first show focused on Turner to be held at the Yale Center for British Art in more than thirty years and will showcase the museum’s rich holdings of the artist’s work.

About “Teen Thursdays”

“Teen Thursdays” are designed to welcome audiences aged 13–19 to engage with the museum's collection in a meaningful way. We will make art, have fun, and hang out with like-minded students interested in art, creativity, and creating community together. Each session will include a themed art-making activity, an invitation to explore the galleries, refreshments, behind-the-scenes access to the museum, and a designated space to hang out.
