The replacement of the museum's roof and skylights is now complete, and the installation of a more sustainable, energy-efficient lighting system throughout the Yale Center for British Art is underway. The extensive scope of this work requires significant closures throughout the building to ensure the safety of our collections, patrons, and staff.

Beginning Thursday, August 1, the Reference Library and Study Room will be closed to all visitors through the end of 2024. Scan & Deliver services for the Reference Library will not be available.

Over the past year, the YCBA was pleased to offer programming and access to the Reference Library and Study Room throughout the building closure. Staff are grateful to those educators and and faculty who adjusted teaching schedules and syllabi to visit these spaces while gallery access was reduced, and look forward to supporting that continued engagement with library and collections of works on paper when the museum reopens in April 2025.
