Postdoctoral Associate for Publications
The Yale Center for British Art is offering a one-year Postdoctoral Associate position in Publications with the possibility of renewal. This postdoctoral position is for candidates interested in developing publishing experience within the art museum environment. It is open to those who have completed a PhD in the field of art history, museology, cultural heritage, or a related field. Prior professional editorial experience is preferred but not required. The candidate’s PhD must be completed by the time the position begins and must have been conferred within four years of the position’s start date.
Reporting to the Head of Publications, the Postdoctoral Associate will undertake a range of activities to drive forward YCBA books, including but not limited to bibliographic work, image research, and the review and analysis of scholarly writing. More specifically, the candidate will collaborate with the Head of Publications to present YCBA titles to Yale University Press; formulate ideas for future books; and conduct research associated with YCBA catalogues and other museum publications, with opportunities to contribute short- and long-form writing as appropriate.

About the Yale Center for British Art
The Yale Center for British Art houses the largest collection of British art outside the United Kingdom, encompassing works from the fifteenth century to the present in a range of media. The museum offers a vibrant, year-round program of events and exhibitions and publishes a wide range of books on British art and the life and legacy of the YCBA’s architect, Louis I. Kahn. Presented to the university by collector and philanthropist Paul Mellon (Yale College, Class of 1929), the museum opened to the public in 1977.
