Short Subjects: Rare Books—Owen Jones

The writer and designer Owen Jones (1809–1874), best known for his Grammar of Ornament, was an innovator in the use of chromolithography for reproducing ornamental motifs.

Drawn from the Center’s collection, Short Subjects: Rare Books was a continuing series of small thematic exhibitions on view from 1979 to 1996.
