Artist Statement

My work focuses on the everyday and the overlooked life and nature in my community. Picnicking at the beach is one of my favorite activities; the waves leave me in awe. I also enjoy taking walks and stopping to take pictures of little moments in the landscape that might be overlooked by other people. Nature can be so beautiful and trying to capture it sometimes does not do it justice. Part of my process is to manipulate the photos using Snapseed to better represent the vibrant structure of my vision.

I was born in Tangier, Morocco, and spent six years of my childhood there before moving to America. I miss my home and family in Morocco very much. They are the ones who sparked my passion for taking photographs. Capturing as many memories as I can to look back on and smile is one of my priorities. Besides taking pictures of significant moments in my own life, I also began exploring different forms of photography.

There is art everywhere—even people are forms of art—so acknowledging the beauty behind it is a significant part of my photography. Life is an adventure waiting to be seen and captured through photographs.
