Artist Statement
I am a photographer. My work is rooted in capturing the act of noticing movement while documenting my own perspectives and emotions by using slow shutter speed and long exposure. When a person looks at my work, I want them to feel something and notice things that they wouldn’t normally see in a regular still photo.
I usually shoot with a tripod and my Canon EOS M50 Mark ll. This camera was gifted to me by my brother two years ago because he knew how much I wanted to do this and saw how talented I could be. Since then I’ve been influenced by many other artists like Francesca Woodman, Ernst Haas, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and the people around me who I’ve met over time.
My journey as a photographer made me realize that you won’t always stick to the same technique or methods that you had when you started. You’ll always keep on progressing and learning your way through this art. This is a passion that some of you might have and want to pursue, so appreciate as you grow as an artist and most importantly as a person.
