Lecture
November 6, 2019

In this lecture, Edgar Heap of Birds (artist and Traditional Elk Warrior Society Leader, Cheyenne Nation of Oklahoma) presents Native origins recounted in revised US history, indigenous community art actions, and public art collaborations with museums and art centers in America and internationally, as well as sharp expressive political discourse through large-scale monoprint installations.

Generous support for this program has been provided by the Norma Lytton Fund for Docent Education, established in memory of Norma Lytton by her family. Lytton was an active docent at the Center for more than twenty years and subsequently spent a decade engaged in research for the Center’s Department of Paintings and Sculpture.
