Modernism and Memory: Rhoda Pritzker and the Art of Collecting

Exhibition Opening Lecture
May 18, 2016

In this lecture, the exhibition’s curator, Ian Collins, (independent curator and writer) considered how Rhoda Pritzker’s background, character, and wide interests informed her unique taste in art. Rhoda’s broad and singular aesthetic as a collector of twentieth-century British paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints reflected a fondness for contemporary creativity and for works reminding her of her roots in northwest England.
