The Center’s docents are now online! Join us for a series of tours exploring the museum’s collectionsarchitecture, and special exhibitions. Each presentation is thirty minutes, with time reserved for conversation and questions.

About this tour

Serena Guerrette, a docent at the Center, discusses the representation of interior spaces in selected works from the Center’s collections. The conditions of the past twenty months have confined many of us to our interiors in unprecedented ways; even now, we continue to observe and engage with each other through video platforms that enclose us in digital rooms. Guerrette examines how British artists have portrayed interiors from the eighteenth through the twentieth centuries and explores the stories these painted spaces tell us about the settings, objects, and figures that occupy them.
