About this tour

Susan Cayer Stout, a docent at the Center, leads an online tour focusing on the relationship between women and books portrayed in art. Featuring selections from the Center’s collections spanning a range of periods and media, Stout examines the perspectives from which artists have approached the subject; how these works were interpreted at the time of their creation; and how contemporary viewers may understand them differently today.
